MADRE ROCCIA

ColdFocus brought us on board to craft the entire graphic package for Madre Roccia, a documentary capturing the opening of a new climbing route in the Dolomites.

Our work included designing publicity posters, text, and title animations, as well as translating hand-drawn maps into trail animations that seamlessly follow the mountain’s rugged terrain, integrated with breathtaking FPV shots from drone pilot Fabrizio Botto.

To achieve this, we developed a custom workflow, interpreting the video into a 3D model of the mountain face using photogrammetry. The trails were then drawn directly onto the model and styled to reflect the aesthetics of alpinist sketches and maps. Finally, we animated the trails, and added technical information.
